I’m Tommaso

an Italian art director and visual designer living in Stockholm, shaped by a mix of street culture, contemporary art, and the visual noise of the 90s and early 2000s. I grew up surrounded by graphics, music videos, videogames, and the aesthetics of skate and hip-hop culture; things that quietly trained my eye long before I knew what “design” really was. Those early influences still guide me today: bold shapes, strong contrast, honest materials, and visual storytelling.

My path started in fashion, where I spent more than fifteen years designing graphics and garments, prints, and product stories for global brands. Working in that world taught me how things get made, how a sketch becomes a sample, how fabrics behave, how color reacts under real light, and how a tiny decision can change the entire attitude of a garment or a sneaker. Over time, I realized I wanted more than the industry treadmill. I wanted direction, intention, and a wider creative field.

That’s why in 2024 I enrolled in Hyper Island. I wanted to grow beyond fashion, break old habits, learn new ways of thinking, and challenge myself through collaboration, reflection, and honest feedback. Hyper Island became a reset button; a place where I could refine my leadership, sharpen my creative voice, and reconnect with why I design in the first place: to tell stories, to build worlds, to make ideas real.

Art has always been a quiet engine in my life. I’m drawn to contemporary art. The rawness, the experimentation, the way it can provoke. I take inspiration from graffiti artists, painters, sculptors, photographers, designers and musicians. Music is a core part of how I think visually. DJing became another outlet for me: a way to curate moods, explore rhythm, and shape atmosphere the same way I shape visuals.

I like working across multiple mediums: footwear, apparel, branding, campaigns, digital experiences, typography, even self-hosted tech projects that feed my curiosity. I don’t separate these worlds; they all belong to the same creative ecosystem. I enjoy touching every part of a project, from the idea to the execution. Sketching, prototyping, directing shoots, retouching images, building installations. I like being inside the process, not hovering above it.

Moving to Stockholm sharpened my eye even more; the contrast between Italian spontaneity and Scandinavian clarity suits me. I value collaboration, different perspectives, and working with people who care.

Today I focus on studio work, art direction and projects where concept, craft, and storytelling meet. I’m still driven by the same things that inspired me as a kid: culture, art, music, subcultures, games, and the details no one notices but everyone feels. That’s the energy I bring to everything I create.

Nice to meet you.
